Project Report β DIGY in YOUth
DIGY in YOUth was successfully held from 31 October to 10 November 2025 in Riga, Latvia. For ten intensive and unforgettable days, 20 participants from 7 different European countries came together to strengthen their digital competences, build cross-cultural understanding, and develop essential future skills for youth work.
The training course focused on building global resilience and demonstrating cross-cultural competence in an increasingly digital world. Through non-formal learning methods, participants explored how technology shapes youth engagement, communication, and learning across borders.
Learning Experience & Competence Development
Throughout the programme, participants engaged in:
-
Digital skills workshops covering practical tools, AI applications, coworking platforms, video editing, and graphic design.
-
Media literacy sessions focused on identifying misinformation and strengthening critical thinking.
-
Role-playing activities designed to reflect on digital dependency and responsible technology use.
-
Creative open-space workshops where participants shaped their own learning process.
-
Video creation activities to practice storytelling and digital content production.
The exchange empowered youth workers and young leaders to gain hands-on experience with digital tools and artificial intelligence. They developed the confidence to promote responsible digital behaviour and navigate online platforms effectively within their communities.
Participants left the project equipped with practical knowledge, critical awareness, and a strengthened sense of responsibility in the digital sphere.
Intercultural Exchange & Personal Growth
Beyond skills development, DIGY in YOUth was a powerful intercultural experience. Spending ten days side by side created space for meaningful discussions, shared perspectives, and genuine connections.
Fun energisers, late-night conversations in the hotel halls, spontaneous reflections, and shared laughter built strong bonds among participants. These informal moments were just as impactful as the formal sessions, fostering real friendships across borders.
Participants reported that the experience was eye-opening. Each day brought new insights that extended beyond cultural boundaries, reinforcing empathy, understanding, and collaboration.
The Host City Experience β Riga, Latvia
Riga provided the perfect backdrop for this international exchange. Participants explored the charming Old Town, wandered through its small streets searching for souvenirs, enjoyed coffee by the river, and spent quality time discovering the city together.
A refreshing trip to the Baltic Sea added a memorable highlight to the programme, allowing participants to reflect, connect with nature, and strengthen group cohesion.
